How GlobeChart handles visitor data, cookies, advertising and analytics.

Effective: 2026-04-27  ·  Last reviewed on 2026-04-27

1. Who this policy is from

This policy describes how GlobeChart (“the site”, “we”) collects and uses information about visitors to globechart.com. By using the site you accept the practices described below. Privacy or data-protection enquiries can be sent to [email protected].

2. What we collect

Information you give us

The site does not require an account. The only information we receive directly is what you choose to send us by email — for example, a contact message or a data correction. That message and your reply address are kept only as long as needed to handle the enquiry.

Information collected automatically

When you load a page, your browser sends standard request data that we and our service providers may log:

  • IP address (used to derive an approximate country/region)
  • Browser type, version, language, and operating system
  • Pages requested, referring URL, date and time
  • Device characteristics relevant to layout (e.g. screen size)

This information is used to operate the site, prevent abuse, and understand which content is useful.

3. Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small text files stored in your browser. The site uses three categories of cookies:

  • Essential cookies — required for basic functionality and security.
  • Analytics cookies — set by Google Analytics to measure aggregate traffic patterns.
  • Advertising cookies — set by Google AdSense and its partners to deliver, measure, and (where allowed) personalize ads.

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. Refusing analytics or advertising cookies will not prevent you from reading the site, but ads may be less relevant. For more detail and opt-out links, see our Cookie Policy.

4. Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use the site. Google Analytics may set cookies and process information about your visit (including a truncated IP address) on our behalf. We do not combine this analytics data with personally identifying information. You can read more in Google’s privacy policy.

5. Advertising and Google AdSense

GlobeChart may display advertisements served by Google AdSense, a service provided by Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC. Where AdSense is active:

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
  • Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this and other sites on the Internet.
  • Some ads may be personalized using a non-personally-identifiable advertising identifier; others are shown without personalization where required by law or your settings.

You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ad Settings, or opt out of third-party vendor cookies for personalized ads at aboutads.info/choices (US) or youronlinechoices.eu (EU/UK). More information about how Google uses data when you use partner sites is available in Google’s “How Google uses information from sites that use our services” notice and the Google advertising policies.

6. Third-party services we rely on

  • Google Analytics — traffic measurement.
  • Google AdSense — advertising delivery and measurement.
  • Google Fonts — web typography.
  • Chart.js (via jsDelivr CDN) — chart rendering library.

These providers process limited request data (such as your IP address and user-agent) when delivering their content, under their own privacy terms. We have no other servers, no marketing database, and we do not sell visitor data.

7. Legal basis (GDPR / UK GDPR)

For visitors in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, our legal bases for processing are:

  • Legitimate interests for running and securing the site, basic analytics, and responding to enquiries.
  • Consent for non-essential analytics and advertising cookies, where consent is required.
  • Compliance with legal obligations when we must retain or disclose information.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Request access to personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction or deletion of that information
  • Object to or restrict certain processing
  • Withdraw consent where processing relies on it
  • Lodge a complaint with your national data-protection authority

California residents have additional rights under the CCPA / CPRA, including the right to know what personal information has been collected, the right to deletion, and the right to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. We do not sell visitor information for money. To exercise any of these rights, write to [email protected].

9. Retention

Server and analytics logs are retained for the period needed to operate, secure, and audit the site (typically 14 to 26 months). Email correspondence is kept for as long as necessary to handle the enquiry and any related follow-up, then deleted or anonymized. Advertising cookie data is retained according to the third-party vendor’s policy.

10. Children

The site is general-audience reference material and is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, write to [email protected] and we will remove it.

11. International transfers

Our service providers (Google, jsDelivr) operate globally. When information is transferred outside your country, those providers rely on safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, or equivalent mechanisms.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as services or laws change. The current version is always available at this URL with a “Last reviewed” date at the top. Material changes will be reflected in that date.

13. Governing law

Any dispute arising from this policy is governed by the laws of [Jurisdiction], without prejudice to mandatory consumer-protection rules of the country where you live.
